Roman & Olenka Babinets

Serving in Lviv, Ukraine

Roman and Olenka have dedicated themselves to building a healthy, sustainable church in Lviv, Ukraine — a community that goes beyond worship to nurture spiritual growth and lasting relationships. Driven by a deep passion for ministry, they establish robust systems that empower smooth leadership transitions and ensure the church thrives for generations. Notably, Roman left a promising career as a marketing professional in a leading construction company, where he worked for five years to answer God’s call and serve His people.

They are addressing a challenge familiar to many churches: the overwhelming burden placed on a single pastor who must juggle administrative, financial, and operational roles alongside spiritual guidance. Finding someone willing to take on such an overwhelming task becomes increasingly difficult as time passes. By creating effective church systems and mentoring emerging leaders, Roman and Olenka aim to make pastoral ministry sustainable and attractive for future generations, paving the way for the planting of subsidiary churches that will spread the Gospel across Lviv.

This mission is deeply personal for the Olenkas. They serve in the church where they grew in faith, a community that has become their family. They have seen firsthand the impact of a strong church, and they want to ensure that this community continues to thrive long into the future.

Their long-term vision is clear: when the time comes for the current pastor to retire, a well-prepared successor will be ready to step in—with the right tools, a strong team, and a clear strategy. Their goal is not just to maintain the church but to see it flourish—reaching more people, discipling the next generation, and planting subsidiary churches that will carry the same mission forward. They envision multiple thriving communities in their city, all working together to spread the gospel and transform lives.

For Roman and Olenka, church is not just a place of worship—it is a vital part of the community, offering hope, purpose, and transformation. Their dream is that, years from now, their church and its subsidiary churches will not just survive but thrive, continuing to introduce people to Jesus and serving their city in powerful ways.
